The Science and Research Institute

The Science and Research Institute in The Książ Castle was founded in 2005. Its objectives are to carry out the science and research projects concerning not only social sciences e.g. regional studies, but also the notions like borderland, civic society, democratization processes, national heritage, international settlements and consequences of European totalitarian systems.
The Institute cooperating with Germany and Czech Republic faces the research problems of Polish-German-Czech borderland.


The main objectives of The Science and Research Institute are:

  • collecting and analyzing materials which are the testimony of national diversity and multicultural dialog;
  • organizing forums, dialogues and discussions with participations of representatives from the European countries and with the young people;
  • presentations of scientific and research publications.


Institute projects:

  • "CYCLE - The Children and Youth Conditions of Life Evaluation", in cooperation with Euro region Glaciensis and the Hannah Arendt Institute for the Research on Totalitarianism at the Technical University of Dresden
  • Grecian and Macedonian minority in Central-Eastern Europe in cooperation with History and Culture Center in Leipzig
